About The Old Crown...
We hope to create a welcoming atmosphere and offer great food and drinks into wee hours in a building that has served London since 1851.
So whether it’s good wi-fi and a place to work from during the daytime, a spot of lunch during a day of sight seeing, a place for after work drinks or some late night revelry we think we have got it covered.
WELCOME TO THE OLD CROWN, 33 NEW OXFORD ST.
The Old Crown is a unique building located on the corner of Museum Street and New Oxford Street. The pub dates back to 1851 years and has a character all of its own. The venue is open to the public on 3 floors all of which have a different vibe to them. The Old Crown is a whimsical escape from the busy streets that surround and once you come in you get the impression it has offered this for quite some time.
You can find reference to The Old Crown in Hogarth's famous Beer Street & Gin Lane from 1751. The spire of St Gile's church is just on the opposite side of the street - so it is fair to say we have some heritage when it comes to serving a libation or two.
GROUND FLOOR -MAIN BAR

The Snug on the Second Floor as we fondly refer to it as is a 30 person private room complete with open fire (when the weather demands). This space is ideal for a quiet spot to work from in the daytime, business meeting or party in the evening.
Our top floor is a hidden gem in the midst of central London. With a standing capacity of 85 it is ideal for parties and daytime conferences. Over the Christmas period the room is transformed into a banquet room ideal for staff lunches. Please contact our staff if you would like to find out more about private hires.
